the infamous gas leak below

Yesterday morning we hear a knock on our door and it ends up being the Keyspan Energy guy. Which was random since we haven't had any problems with our gas or anything. And he's like have you guys smelled any gas of late? And Abbey was like "no, we haven't, is there a problem?" so he comes in with his little gas reader and starts seeing if we have gas lingering around. Well, it turns out the guy directly below us was having work done while he was away for 2wo months and when the people rehooked the stove up they didn't get all the plugs or things in the right place. So that apartment has had a gas leak for all those months. Abbey asked him if a match was lit if it'd all go up and the guy was like if the tenent even flicked the light on the whole place would have blown up. Just like in Fight Club Abbey and I concluded. Crazy huh? VERY CRAZY.

It's weird to think that there was a major gas leak right below me and I could have been blown to smithereens. Ha! I've always wanted to say that but never in my life would have thought I could have been.
