deeptokyo's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- soc 101 and study habits Okay, I understand how some people have quirky ways to study and learn certain things but some ways mystify me. For instance, in class yesterday I saw a person going through the end of chapter review and writing all the definitions down. And then I asked myself why? I mean, its all in the book. Why do you have to rewrite it in your notes when its in alphabetical order at the end of each chapter, I mean this was Sociology 101. She was writing down words like "society" and "culture" and three people raised their hands saying they didn't know who Karl Marx is. What class am I in? And then I saw in front of me a girl using a ruler to underline passages. No, I'm not kidding, she was right in front of me using what looked like architecture equipment or something. I'm just gonna stick to plain old reading the chapter. No underlining or excessive highlighting. Just reading. While making tea today I reached for a mug and realized that I had to go far back since we hadn't run the dishwasher yet. Well, I grabbed hold of a smurf mug that I completely forgot about. I found it at the Salvation Army for 25 cents. A pretty amazing deal I do say so. It's so cute. Adam says "I get lost often so I made a map. I decided to make it life-size. I don't get lost anymore" 3:23 p.m. - 2002-10-22 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
